Electricals The acceleration unil contains a series of micro switches which energise contractors in the control circuit the rate of ace deration is controlled by a fluid filled dashpot. Smooth acceleration is achieved from standstill to full speed over five stages. An anti-plugging device istitted for safety. It prevents sudden changing of direction of the truck while it is motion. Change of direction is possible only after having the acceleration pedal brought to the “OFF” position. Wastage of battery is starting resistances is reduced to minimum by avoiding lose 0 r resi ste nee over more than half the stages of acceleration. This feature enables longer working hours per single battery charge. A red warning light indicates when the battery is discharged condition. This is achieve through a relay that senses the state of charge of the battery.
Transmission A generously rated variable speed totally enclosed motor with class F insulation. The motor and gear box & %embly is connected to the differential through a universal coupling. The drive axle is independently mounted on to the chassis and can be removed without removal of other components. It IS of the fully floating double reduction type and is fitted with taper roller bearings. The design permits j;lst acceleration which enables the truck to give more work output per hour.
Steering The steering is through a gearbox with chain and sprocket arrangement connecting the bottom of the bottom of the steering column to the single front wheel.
Brakes The Truck has automotive type hydraulic and mechanical braking systems.
Heavy duty hydraulic brakes act on independent brake drums mounted on the drive axle and are actuated by foot pedals. The mechanical brakes acts on the drive wheels and is operated by a handlever positioned in front of the operator.
Chassis A robust fabricated structure of steel.
Controls All controls are positioned in front of the operator for ease of operation. A key switch controlling the electrical circuit is directly in front of the operator together with the red warning light giving the indication that the circuit is live when the switch key is turned and the truck is stationary. The hand bmke is positioned by the left hand. The acceleration and brake pedals are conveniently positioned for foot operation.
